Learning Japanese: Negative Sentence (Noun)

Today I learned how to form negative sentences in Japanese using nouns.

Pattern

Noun1 は Noun2 ではありません

Used to express “Noun1 is not Noun2” (polite/formal form)

Examples

  • わたしはがくせいではありません
    (I am not a student)

  • かれはせんせいではありません。
    (He is not a teacher)

  • これはほんではありません。
    (This is not a book)
